【摘要】:ThisInternationalStandardspecifiesalaboratorymethodfordeterminingtheflash-ignitiontemperatureandspontaneous-ignitiontemperatureofplasticsusingahot-airfurnace.Itisoneofanumberofmethodsinuseforevaluatingthereactionofplasticstotheeffectsofignitionsources.Thismethoddoesnotgiveadirectmeasureofthecombustibilityorrateofamaterialoranydefinitionofthesafeupperlimitoftemperaturefortheplasticsinuse,anditshouldnotbeusedalonetodescribeorappraisethefirehazardorfireriskofmaterials,productsorassembliesunderactualfireconditions.However,resultsofthistestmaybeusedaselementsofafirehazardorfireriskassessmentwhichtakesintoaccountallofthefactorspertinenttoanassessmentofthefirehazardofaparticularenduse.Testsmadeunderconditionsofthismethodcanbeofconsiderablevalueincomparingtherelativeignitioncharacteristicsofdifferentmaterials.Valuesobtainedrepresentthelowestambientairtemperaturethatwillcauseignitionofthematerialundertheconditionsofthistest.Testvaluesareexpectedtorankmaterialsaccordingtoignitionsusceptibilityunderactualuseconditions.
