【摘要】:ThisBritishStandardgivesrecommendationsforthecontrolofwater-sideconditionsofsteamboilersandwaterheatersandalsoforthepreparationoffeedwaterforsuchplant.Thefollowingcategoriesofwaterheatingorsteam-raisingplantarecovered:a)hotwatersystemsasdefinedin1.4;b)electrodeboilers;c)shell(fire-tube)boilersoperatingatpressuresupto30bar;d)water-tubeboilersoperatinguptocriticalpressure;e)once-throughboilers,including'coil'and'hairpin'types,operatingupto,orabove,thecriticalpressure.NOTE1.Regulation11ofthePressureSystemsandTransportableGasContainersRegulations,1989[2]cameintoeffecton1July1994andrequiresboileruserstoprovideoperatorswithadequateandsuitableinstructionsforthesafeoperationoftheboiler,andtoensurethattheboilerisnotoperated,exceptinaccordancewiththeseinstructions.GuidancegivenintheHealthandSafetyExecutive'sApprovedCodeofPracticeSafetyofPressureSystems[3]requiresthatinstructionsshouldcover,ifappropriate,thefeedwatertreatment.NOTE2.TheControlofSubstancesHazardoustoHealth(COSHH)Regulations1994[1]requireanassessmentoftheriskofexposuretosubstanceshazardoustohealthandimplicationofthecontrolmeasuresneededtoprevent,orifthatisnotreasonablypracticable,adequatelycontrolsuchexposure.Allsourcesofexposureintheworkplacearecoveredincludingreleasesresultingfromexplosionorventing.ForfurtherinformationusersareadvisedtoconsulttheApprovedCodesofPracticecoveringthecontrolofsubstanceshazardoustohealthandcontrolofcarcinogenicsubstances[4].TherecommendationsarenotdirectlyappropriateformarineboilerswhichareseparatelyaddressedbyBS1170Recommendationsfortreatmentofwaterformarineboilers.Therecommendationsdonotcovernuclear-poweredsteamgenerationplant.Analyticalproceduresandtestmethodsareoutsidethescopeofthisstandard.AnnexesAtoDprovideadditionalusefulinformation.note:2)1bar=100kPA.
